Neo-Classical Poolhouse Pavilion

Neo-Classical Pool House Addition to Southampton Estate

Architect: Mark Holmquist Architect

Interior Designer: Jamie Drake (Drake Design Associates)

Landscape Architect: Janice Parker

This neo-classical pool house pavilion was designed by architect Mark Holmquist as part of the extensive renovation and restoration of a historic 25,000-square-foot Southampton estate residence originally constructed circa 1913 in the Hamptons on Long Island. The estate transformation was led by internationally recognized interior designer Jamie Drake and encompassed the residence, gardens, and outdoor living spaces.

Considered an important part of Southampton’s architectural heritage, the estate underwent a thoughtful architectural renovation and landscape transformation following its acquisition by the new owner. The design approach sought to preserve and enhance the property’s historic character while introducing contemporary functionality and refined amenities suited to modern Hamptons living.

Holmquist’s neo-classical poolhouse pavilion was conceived as a seamless architectural extension of the main residence, drawing inspiration from the estate’s original proportions, detailing, and formal landscape relationships. The pavilion, together with the redesigned swimming pool and gardens, reinforces the timeless elegance associated with Southampton estates and luxury Hamptons architecture.
