Manhattan Pied – a – Terre

Park Avenue Pied-à-Terre Renovation

This serene, modern Manhattan pied-à-terre renovation on Park Avenue occupies the top floor of a postwar residential building. The project enhances the building’s mid–20th-century modern character, reinterpreted through a contemporary interior design approach.

The plan remains open and fluid, while newly introduced moldings—drawn from an Art Deco vocabulary—create a continuous rhythm and architectural cohesion throughout the apartment. A custom-designed stone fireplace serves as a focal point, anchoring the living space with understated elegance.

Furnishings from the early to mid–20th century, including pieces from the owner’s collection alongside curated acquisitions, create a layered and collected interior. Full-height drapery softens the architecture while reinforcing the strength of the spatial envelope.

The minimalist bathroom features walls clad in white nano glass, creating a seamless, highly reflective surface that enhances light and spatial clarity. A flush walk-in shower with a glass partition maintains visual continuity, while a geometric mosaic floor adds subtle texture. Wall-mounted fixtures and a sculptural sink reinforce the clean, modern aesthetic.

The custom dressing room is designed as an intimate, highly functional space, featuring bespoke millwork, integrated storage, and a balance of open shelving and concealed compartments. A restrained material palette and carefully integrated lighting create a refined, tailored environment.
